Word Study

The students were given a list of vocabulary words to search in Galileo. They were to copy and paste the words on a one-two page word document. The page(s) were used by the students to construct sentences that use the words correctly. After writing the sentences, the students were to use all ten vocabulary words in a focused narrative writing piece. The student's name should be typed on all sheets before given them to the teacher for assessment. The words in the sentences and narrative should be in bold print.

Word Study Narrative	1 No narrative is given. The Narrative uses less than seven of the words from the list correctly. The sentences are incomplete or sentence fragments No vocabulary was in bold print.	2 Student's name is found on paper. Student uses 12+ font. At least seven-eight words are used correctly in the narrative as complete sentences. Most vocabulary words are in bold print.	3 Student's name is typed at the top of the paper. Double spacing with 12+ font. At least nine of the ten vocabulary words are used correctly in complete sentences in the narrative.
