On average 2 to 3 mm in width in midline. 2mm in width at pterygomaxillary notches and 4 to 6 mm wide in between. Depth of seal is 1 to 1.5 mm deep. Slightly rough or irregular.	Modifications C Posterior palatal seal carved in master cast. Master cast is adequate to make a clinically acceptable complete denture, but marginally so. Remount Jig	Ideal A 1/3 of maxillary denture teeth ( corresponding to the occlusal and incisal surfaces) engage the stone of remounting jig. Maxillary denture remains stable on the index.
