Presenting a New Scene for Our Town/The Glass Menagerie

Writing a new scene for a play, being sure to keep the characters and action true to the spirit of the play. The new scene will be read to the class using class members as necessary actors.

Script	Excellent The writing demonstrates careful organization that moves the play along realistically; the dialogue is true to the play and fits the characters well; the new scene fits well into the play.	Good The writing demonstrates logical, coherent organization; the dialogue seems to fit the characters most of the time; the new scene, on the whole, fits the play with just a few rough edges.	Fair The writing reflects ineffective or weak organization; the dialogue seems awkward coming from the characters; the action of play is not enhanced by the new scene.	Poor The writing reflects very little organization; it lacks transitional elements; it seems to pay little attention to characters' personalities and motivations.
