Fluency 5 pts	Poor Cannot understand because of confusing sequence; long and numerous pauses; utterances left unfinished; information not related to the topic or conversation.	Fair Is difficult to follow because student jumps around; stumbles too much; has long unnatural pauses; has difficulty rephrasing.Uncomfortable communication.	Good Student communicates appropriate information in logical sequence which audience can follow. Slight stumbling and pauses at unnatural points.	Excellent Student communicates appropriate information in logical, interesting sequence. Speech is natural and continuous; pauses are natural
Vocabulary 10 pts unit, 6, 7, 8	Poor Student does not have grasp of vocabulary from the course or is too limited for effective communication.	Fair Student is uncomfortable with vocabulary from the course; incorporates very basic vocabulary.	Good Student is at ease with expected vocabulary, but fails to elaborate.	Excellent Student demonstrates full knowledge of vocabulary from the course with elaboration.
Pronunciation 5 pts	Poor Student mumbles; incorrectly pronounces vocabulary; speaks too quietly; is difficult to understand; incomprehensible; at times gives no response.	Fair Student’s voice is low or monotone; incorrectly pronounces vocabulary; difficult to perceive meaning and follow along.	Good Student’s voice is clear; uses proper voice inflection; pronounces most words correctly; generally comprehensible.	Excellent Student uses a clear voice and correct, precise voice inflection and pronunciation of terms so that all can follow and understand.
Structure/ Grammar 10 pts preterite, gustar, negative, indefinite, demonstrative adjective and pronoun, reflexive verbs,indirect object pronoun	Poor Student does not have grasp of structures and grammar from the course or is too limited for effective communication.	Fair Student is uncomfortable with structures and grammar from the course; formulates only rudimentary sentences.	Good Student is somewhat at ease with expected structures and grammar, but still makes some errors. The errors do not impede understanding.	Excellent Student demonstrates full knowledge of grammar and structures from the course with elaboration.
