Check for mains. Look for any frayed part of power cords,
integrity of cables & electrodes.
Verify that all the knobs/controls in the apparatus are at zero.
Keep your index and middle fingers on active and indifferent electrodes to check whether the machine is working or not

Select parameters like frequency, pulse, duration etc.
Set appropriate treatment time for the patient condition.
Gradually increase the current.
Periodically ask patient if feeling too vigorous sensation or comfortable.
Periodically check under the electrodes if using both pad electrodes.

a. As the treatment time is over, turn the intensity/dosage level to ZERO, switch OFF the machine & move away from the patient.
b. Remove the electrodes, output cables & materials used for draping form the patient.
c. Inspect the treatment area for any adverse reactions like blisters/burns/rashes/etc.
d. Ask the patient to maintain the same position for minutes (In order to avoid postural hypotension) & then to sit/stand.
e. Keep all the collected materials to its origin
