Volleyball Lesson Objectives A rubric testing 3 lesson objectives in volleyball lesson: dig, passing rule and sportsmanship. Criteria are based upon year 6-8 level skill.

Dig Objective: Successfully demonstrate 5 digs with the correct hand placement	1 Hands were apart. <5 successful digs.	2 Hands were together on almost all of the hits. 5 successful digs.	3 Hands were together on all of the hits and arms were straight. >5 successful digs.
Passing Rule Objective: State the rule that the ball is to be passed a maximum of 3 times before the ball is hit back over the net	1 Does not know that the ball is to be passed a maximum of 3 times. Does not demonstrate any understanding during the game.	2 Knows that the ball is to be passed a maximum of 3 times but does not always demonstrate this knowledge in game play.	3 Knows that the ball is to be passed a maximum of 3 times and demonstrates an excellent understanding of this during game play.
Sportsmanship Objective: Show ethical behaviour in the form of sportsmanship throughout the modified volleyball game at the end of the lesson	1 - Does not participate in the game - Blames other players for mistake - Shows no signs of encouragement for anyone - Makes negative comments	2 - Participates in the game - Does not blame other players for mistakes - Encourages players on the team - Makes no positive nor negative comments	3 - Always participating in the game to their full extent - Does not blame other players for mistakes and also helps players on the field - Always encourages the players on both teams - Makes many positive comments to support the team
