	Excellent 5 pts	Good 4 pts	Fair 3 pts	Poor 1 pts
Story Lead 5 pts	Excellent Lead is highly engaging and draws the viewer into the story without being misleading.	Good Lead is solid and a good introduction to the story without being misleading.	Fair Lead is merely there. It isn't especially good or bad, but is factual. May be too long or contain too much information.	Poor Lead is not engaging or not easy to read. It could contain too much information to read at once or be factually inaccurate.
Organization of facts 5 pts	Excellent Facts are presented logically and flow from one to the next in a manner that is easy for the viewer to follow.	Good All the important facts are included, although the story may not be as easy to follow.	Fair One or two important facts are missing, or are slightly disjointed making the story harder to follow.	Poor Several important facts are missing. Facts are inserted in the story at random and often detract from the story flow, or make the story unclear.
Grammar and Mechanics 5 pts	Excellent Story is written to be read. Broadcast language is used in an effective way to tell an accurate story. No spelling or grammar errors.	Good Broadcast language is used for the most part. There is only one spelling or grammar error.	Fair Broadcast language is used sparingly. There are no more than two spelling and grammar errors.	Poor Story is not written to read. There are more than two spelling or grammar errors.

Fair Story has major holes, or is some inaccuracies and doesn't do a job communicating the essence of the news story.	Poor Story is completely inaccurate and fails to communicated the essence of the news story.
