Main Idea and Supporting Details 
Students will create a graphic organizer to demonstrate knowledge of main idea and detail while using an expository text of "The Life and Times of an Ant". The main idea and details will be the focus of the graphic organizer and the supporting details will be evidence. The student will include at least five supporting details. Illustrations will be added to the graphic organizer and must connect to the main idea as well.

Does not attempt to initiate assignments and participate. Needs constant help or redirection.

Attempts to initiate assignment and participate with assistance.
Good

Initiates assignment independently and participates, may need slight help.
