iRubric: Class Participation rubric

Student is often late for rehearsal and is not attentive to directions in class, causing delays in the rehearsal.

Student is on-time for class and follos basic directions and exhibits good rehearsal etiquette.

The student arrives early for class, assembles his or her instrument and is ready to play three minutes after the bell rings. Student follows directions the first time and exhibits excellent rehearsal etiquette.

The student does not practice at home, meaning that his or her part must be learned in class.

The student practices at home occasionally and usually knows his or her part well enough to contribute musically to the class.

The student practices at home often and is a leader in rehearsals. The student knows his or her part well enough that notes and rhythms do not need to be rehearsed. The ensemble can focus on expression, balance and playing as a group.
