Developing Inconsistently describes the music mentioning the basic elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, tempo, style, etc. May only have a few comments.	Proficient Sufficiently describes the music mentioning the basic elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, tempo, style, etc.	Advanced Exceptionally describes the music mentioning the basic elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, tempo, style, etc. Description is complete and may include higher order thinking.
Compare/Contrast When two or more pieces have been used.	Minimal Insufficiently compares/contrasts the music. Students is unable to find anything that is different between the music.	Developing Inconsistently compares/contrasts the music. Student may only find one or two very basic items to contrast	Proficient Sufficiently compares/contrasts the music. Students finds a few items to contrast that are within the elements of music.	Advanced Exceptionally compare/contrasts the music. Student finds several items to contrast between two pieces that include elements of music. Comment require higher order thinking.
