Button
Needs Improvement
Most stitches are untidy with many loops. The needle rarely went in and out of the same holes. Some stitches go over the edge of the button or over the edge of the fabric. Student forgot to wrap a shank. Student forgot to knot the thread.
On the Way
Some stitches are neat and free of any loops. The needle sometimes went in and out of the same holes. Thread was inconsistently wrapped under the button. The fabric puckers. The knots are inconsistent (too big or too small, perhaps with loops). The ends of thread weren't cut close to the knot.
Almost There
Most stitches are neat and free of any loops. The needle mostly went in and out of the same holes. Thread was wrapped about 5 times under the button to produce a shank but the fabric puckers. The knots on the back of the fabric are for the most part neat or the ends of the threads weren't cut close to the knot.
Wow
All stitches are neat and free of any loops. The needle consistently went in and out of the same holes. Thread was snugly wrapped about 5 times under the button to produce a shank.
