iRubric: Research Paper Rough Draft Rubric

Introduction, body, and conclusion lack clarity and need rewriting. Paper lacks transitions and/or transitions are ineffective. Paragraphs lack topic sentences and/or clarity. This paper is not complete and will need substantial work to be a solid final paper.

Introduction, body, and conclusion need improvement to be clear and effective and/or transitions need improvement. Most paragraphs have topic sentences. The paper is a little short but is approaching a final draft.

Introduction with thesis statement, body of paper, and conclusion are all clear and effective.
Transistions are effective and well placed. All paragraphs contain topic sentences.The length is close to a final draft.

Citations average about one per page and Works Cited page is missing or incomplete. There is not enough research to effectively support thesis or research lacks credibility.

There is one piece of evidence (citations) per paragraph and/or Works cited page needs corrections. Research is somewhat effective in supporting thesis.
