	Minimal 1 pts	Basic 2 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Advanced 4 pts
Melody	Minimal Most pitches are performed incorrectly.	Basic Many of the pitches are performed incorrectly.	Proficient Performed most of the pitches correctly.	Advanced Confidently performed all pitches correctly.
Accompaniment	Minimal Most of the accompaniment are performed incorrectly.	Basic Some of the accompanmiment ise performed correctly.	Proficient Most of the accompaniment is performed correctly, with few errors.	Advanced Confidently performs accompaniment correctly.
Musicianship	Minimal No dynamics. No use of articulation. Most phrases are performed incorrectly.	Basic Some dynamics are observed. Some articulation is performed. Some phrases are complete and musically accurate.	Proficient Most of the dynamics are followed, and most of the articulation signs are observed. Most phrases are performed correctly.	Advanced Student performs the piece with appropriate dynamics, phrasings, and articulation.
Rehearsal Effort and Behavior	Minimal Student is generally distracted and may be a distraction to the entire rehearsal process. Teacher reminds student continually about what is expected during a rehearsal.	Basic Student is on task and giving effort 50% of the time. Teacher frequently reminds this student about what is expected during rehearsal. After the reminder, the student regains focus.	Proficient Student is on task and giving effort 80% of the time. Teacher gives an occasional reminder to this student about what is expected during rehearsal. After the reminder, the student regains focus.	Advanced Student is on task and giving effort 100% of the time. Teacher does not need to remind this student about what is expected during rehearsal.
