Ukulele Rubric
	Excellent 20 pts	Good 15 pts	Fair 10 pts	Developing 5 pts
Chord knowledge	Excellent Plays all chords correctly with correct fingers, correct strings and correct frets.	Good Plays all chords correctly with minor mistakes in fingers, strings or frets.	Fair Plays some chords correctly with some incorrect fingers, strings, or frets.	Developing Is unable to play more than 1 chord correctly yet.
Sound	Excellent All strings can be heard equally and are allowed to be ringing (the sound is not stopped). All chords sound consistent.	Good All strings can be heard equally and are allowed to be ringing with minor mistakes. Most chords are sounding consistent.	Fair Some strings can be heard equally and are allowed to be ringing/vibrating. One or two chords sound consistent.	Developing The sound is being stopped by poor fingering or poor strumming.
Strumming	Excellent Wrist is loose and comfortable. Movement is from the wrist, not the elbow.	Good Wrist is loose and comfortable, but not consistently strumming all strings at the same time.	Fair Strumming is tense. Each string can be heard individually instead of as one chord.	Developing Is mixing up strumming hand and chord/fingers.
Posture	Excellent Student is sitting with back straight and ukulele against their body.	Good Student is sitting with back straight and ukulele against their body most of the time.	Fair Student is sitting with back straight and ukulele against their body some of the time.	Developing Student is not sitting with back straight and ukulele against their body.
Technique	Excellent Fingers are rounded with fingertips pressing the strings and thumb is on the back of the neck of the ukulele.	Good Fingers are rounded with fingertips pressing the strings and thumb is on the back of the neck of the ukulele most of the time.	Fair Fingers are rounded with fingertips pressing the strings and thumb is on the back of the neck of the ukulele some of the time.	Developing Fingers are flat, fingertips are not pressing the strings and/or thumb is not on the back of the neck of the ukulele.
Effort	Excellent Excellent Student effort (rehearsal and performance) is excellent.	Good Good Student effort (rehearsal and performance) is good.	Fair Fair Student effort (rehearsal and performance) is fair.	Developing Poor Student effort (rehearsal and performance) is poor.
