Oral Presentation on the chosen topic. You have chosen the topic. This is the rubric on which it will be assessed. This may change between now and the presentation date. If it does, I will let you know ASAP.

Subject Knowledge You must provide a clear explanation of the topic. What is it? In what ways is it a worldwide issue?	Exceeds Student demonstrates full knowledge of the issue (more than required) by providing clear explanations and elaboration. Is able to answer questions.	Meets Student demonstrates solid knowledge of the issue.	Partially Meets Student is uncomfortable with information, and cannot answer all questions.	Does Not Meet Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about subject.
Organization of Presentation Presentation must be cohesive and clearly articulated. Also, use solid presentation skills.	Exceeds Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow. And, is presented clearly without reading from Keynote slides facing away from the class.	Meets Student presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow. And, is presented clearly without reading from Keynote slides facing away from the class.	Partially Meets Audience has difficulty following presentation because student jumps around. May read off slides or not engage with audience.	Does Not Meet Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information. Reading off slides and/or poster, etc.
Visuals There must be some sort of visual component that supports the rest of the presentation. This can take many forms.	Exceeds Student's visuals explain and reinforce text and presentation.	Meets Student's visuals relate to text and presentation.	Partially Meets Student occasionally uses visuals that rarely support text and presentation.	Does Not Meet Student uses visuals that do not contribute to the meaning of the research or no visuals.
Opinion/how it impacts USA Must give an opinion of the subject matter. How do you feel about it and/or what should be done? Also, must include how this impacts (or is impacted by) the USA.	Exceeds Student gives a clearly articulated opinion of the topic, and it is clear how this issue impacts (or is impacted by) the USA.	Meets Student gives an opinion of the topic, and how this issue impacts (or is impacted by) the USA.	Partially Meets Student gives a confusing opinion and/or only scratches the surface with how this impacts (or is impacted by the USA).	Does Not Meet No opinion -- and does not talk about how this impacts (or is impacted by) the USA.
Timing 5-8 Minutes.	Exceeds Within the 5-8 minute timeframe.	Meets Just outside the 5-8 minute timeframe.	Partially Meets Way under or above the 5-8 minute limit.	Does Not Meet Huh? wicked short, or needed to be cut off because the presentation went too long.
