Picasso Portrait Picasso Portrait This is a rubric for an art project on Pablo Picasso. Students observe and discuss Cubist art and focus on portraits. Cubism	Satisfactory Does not show multiple views of the face. Almost no planning involved. Does not represent the Cubist style.	Good Shows different views of the face. Some planning before moving on to final painting.	Excellent Shows careful planning. Shows and understanding of cubism. Student places multiple views of the face and its features. Looks cubist in both drawing and painting.
Craftsmanship	Satisfactory Drawing and colouring is done carelessly. Using complimentary colours was not attempted or unsuccessful. Colouring is uneven and did not always use complimentary colours.	Good The drawing and colouring are well crafted. Colouring shows good use of complementary colours and is completed neatly with attention to detail.	Excellent The drawing and colouring are carefully crafted. Colouring shows excellent use of complementary colours and is done successfully. Colouring looks even and shows great deal of attention to detail.
General Skills This includes effort and conduct.	Satisfactory Shows no pride in the work. Does the bear minimum. Had to be spoken to about effort and conduct. Rushing to finish or unfinished because of conduct.	Good Completes work in a timely manner. Did what was asked to create a cubist portrait. Good behavior during class time.	Excellent Completes work in a timely manner. Goes above and beyond to create a unique cubist portrait. Pays careful attention to detail and craft. Excellent behavior.
