Work with money. MA.5. Identify the values of all U.S. coins and know their comparative values (e.g., a nickel is of greater value than a penny). Find equivalent values (e.g., a nickel is equivalent to 5 pennies).

Name of coins 3	Mastered Student independently identifies the name of the following coins pennies, nickels, dimes and pennies when asked.	Developing Skill Student can identify the name of a penny and the nickel when asked with modeling needed.	Needs Improvement Student can match coin to coin when presented with pictorial cues of two coins(Penny and the nickel) with supports needed. ma cannot identify the values of pennies and nickels.
Value of Coins 3	Mastered Student independently identifies the value of the following coins pennies, nickels, dimes and pennies when asked. Student can easily independently make an exchange of 5 pennies to a nickel.	Developing Skill Student can identify the value of a penny and the nickel when asked with visual cues given. Student needs help exchanging pennies to nickels	Needs Improvement Student can identify, match and sort coins( pennies and nickels) with adult supports.
Counting Mixed Coins 3	Mastered Student can independently count mixed coins (pennies and nickels).	Developing Skill Student can count and add mixed coins( pennies and nickels) with verbal and visual cues needed.	Needs Improvement Student requires adult supervision to add and count coins (pennies and nickels).
Writes the name and coin value 3	Mastered Student successfully writes correct name and value of each coin.	Developing Skill Student requires redirection and verbal prompting to write the names of each coin.	Needs Improvement Student identifies name of coin however requires adult supports to write the coin value.
