Posture	Unsatisfactory Poor posture. In back of chair, slouching, and/or legs crossed. Instrument position is incorrect. Needs individual attention.	Basic Posture needs improvement. In back of chair, slouching, and/or legs crossed. Instrument position needs improvement.	Proficient Very good posture. Sits up and off the back of chair with feet flat on the floor. Instrument position mostly correct.	Distinguished Excellent posture. Sits up on edge of chair with feet flat on the floor. Instrument position is excellent.
Rhythm/ Note Accuracy	Unsatisfactory No obvious sense of pulse. Rhythms are incorrect. Many note errors. Needs individual attention.	Basic Inconsistent pulse. Many rhythms are incorrect. Fair note accuracy. Several notes missed.	Proficient Basic sense of pulse. Some rhythms are incorrect. Good note accuracy. One or two notes missed.	Distinguished Strong sense of pulse. Bow is usually straight and on the highway. Bow hold is mostly correct but may be slightly tight.	Distinguished Arm weight is into the string. Playing is very confident with a strong sound. Bow is straight and on the highway. Bow hold is correct and relaxed.
