Structural challenge

Student will design and construct a balsa wood bridge . Bridge must be constructed using acceptable Engineering practices. Squareness, symmetry, aesthetics, neatness of cuts and glued joints are areas to be judged. Self-reflective evaluation will demonstrate knowledge growth and new strategies learned.

Good Bridge Sketch is neat and most lines are sharp and accurately measured. Sketch is mostly to scale. Sketch is mostly symmetrical.	Fair Bridge Sketch is somewhat neat with some sharp lines and accurate measurements. Sketch shows some lines to scale, but with either too much or too little detail. Sketch shows some good attempts at symmetry.	Poor Bridge Sketch is not neat and few lines are sharp and accurately measured. Sketch shows difficulty with scale and detail. Sketch is not symmetrical.
Critical Thinking/Problem Solving	Excellent Student applies most or all of the engineering principles discussed in class.	Good Student applies many of the engineering principles discussed in class.
