Poor
Student does not respect the teacher or his/her classmates. Student speaks over others, is rude or uses inappropriate speech, and does not raise his/her hand. The student disrupts the class.
Fair
Student usually listens to his/her teacher and classmates, but needs to be reminded. The student speaks with friends while working on assignment.
Good
Student is always respectful and kind to his/her teacher and classmates. They always raise their hand when they have a question.
Participation
Poor
Student forgets his/her materials. Student arrives more than 10 minutes late or arrives to class without a pass. Student does not complete class activities or puts no effort into classwork.
Fair
Student forgets some material (worksheets, writing supplies). Student arrives late but with a pass. Student uses cellphone once but stops once reminded. Student puts little effort into the assignments.
Good
Student is ready for class with all materials, on time, and happy to be there. They are enthusiastic, ready to learn and participate, and puts forth effort in assignment.
Focus/Attention
Poor
The student does not make an attempt at beginning classwork/ sleeps in class/ repeatedly uses his/her electronic device, Airpods, earbuds and/or headphones without permission. Student asks to leave the room and is gone for an extended period.
Fair
It takes several minutes for student to start an activity.
Student needed a reminder to not use electronic device during class.
Student asks to leave the room (for bathroom, food, etc).
Student occasionally doses off, is distracted, or distracts others.
Good
Student takes initiative in starting assignment.
Student is alert, on task and does not need reminders regarding classwork.
Electronic devices are put away and not used without permission.
Work Completion
Poor
Student makes little to no attempt to use class time efficiently. Classwork is: not completed within the given time OR
copied OR
completed in an unrealistic amount of time
Fair
Student tends to waste time or distract themselves, and does not fully complete the assignment within the given time.
Good
Student works throughout the duration of class period to fully complete assignment.
