Contribution to group	Needs Improvement Student did not contribute equally to the plan and construction of the balloon. -or- students did not compromise and share ideas towards their final project.	Satisfactory Agreement and cooperative work during most of the work sessions. Students required mediation and assistance in compromising toward the goal.	Exemplary Students worked well together, were engaged in problem solving, and the group required no assistance mediating difficulties.
Process, plan, drawing	Needs Improvement No evidence of a drawing of the planned model. Details of plan were missing, students were not engaged in the process, failing to follow directions.	Satisfactory Students followed the directions given in class, created a drawing that was followed to some degree, however some details of the plan were missing.	Exemplary Students followed directions and completed a detailed, well planned drawing that was followed in construction of the model.
Assembly	Needs Improvement Little care taken in assembly of project. Some pieces do not fit correctly. Evidence of glue missing at seams, rips and bad patch work. Flight data, distance, and time	Needs Improvement Flight was less than 100 feet, no data were obtained, no calculations were possible. Exemplary Balloon flew more than 150 feet, data was meticulously gathered, and calculations were correct and demonstrated relevant patterns.
