Listening	Excellent Always listens to and often looks at the speaker	Satisfactory Usually listens and looks at the speaker	Unsatisfactory Seldom listens to or looks at the speaker
Speaking	Excellent Participates well and always provides relevant and thought provoking commentary or questions Often volunteers information or analysis and always answers questions asked of class	Satisfactory Satisfactory participation Sometimes provides relevant and interesting commentary or questions Usually does not speak unless called upon Sometimes responds with "I don't know" or vague answers to questions asked of class	Unsatisfactory Limited participation Does not speak even when spoken to; usually responds with "I don't know" due to lack of preparation or attention
Body Language	Excellent Shows interest in the discussion with eye contact and voice	Satisfactory Shows interest in topic with eye contact or voice some of the time There are instances where he/she is not paying attention (i.e. sleeping, head down, not taking notes, etc)	Unsatisfactory Shows no interest in topic by sleeping, not taking notes, not making eye contact, or talking inappropriately
