The Anti-Color Wheel Project Rubric 
After the completion of the Color Theory Unit the student will create a creative color wheel incorporating the knowledge gained from the Color Theory Unit as well as including the Principles & Elements of Art into the final project.The student will correctly mix and paint the correct colors on the color wheel in the correct position while creating an interesting composition using Principles & Elements of Design.

Advanced (18-20 pts.)

The color wheel is exceptionally designed with the correct number of spaces for the colors. Drawing is very creative and original and exceptionally executed.
Proficient (16-17 pts.)

The color wheel is well drawn and represents an with the correct number of spaces for the colors.
Drawing is creative and somewhat original.
Nearly Proficient (14-15pts.)

The color wheel is drawn fairly but does not follow the directions given for the colors/or may not have the correct number of spaces.
Drawing shows little originality and creativity.
Emerging (13-0 pts.)

The color wheel does not follow the instructions given for the colors/and or spaces. The drawing design is copied or not finished.
Primary Colors and Secondary Colors

Advanced (18-20 pts.)

Primary, secondary, and intermediate colors have been exceptionally well-organized and painted in their correct space. "Wild card" colors have been added in the appropriate spaces along side their complement.
Proficient (16-17 pts.)

Primary, secondary, and intermediate colors have been organized and painted in the correct order. "Wild card" colors were added.
Nearly Proficient (14-15pts.)

Primary, secondary, and intermediate colors have been painted, but not organized on the color wheel. "Wild card" colors were missing or were placed incorrectly.

Primary, secondary, and intermediate colors have not been painted or placed on the color wheel. "Wild card"colors have not been placed on the color wheel or are incorrect.

Craftmanship

Advanced (18-20 pts.)

Colors have been exceptionally well-organized, cleanly cut and placed organized correctly on the color wheel, according to instructions given.
Proficient (16-17 pts.)

Colors have been organized, cut well and placed on the color wheel.
Craftsmanship is neat and clean. Design is well presented.
Nearly Proficient (14-15pts.)

Colors have been placed on the color wheel, but may not all follow placement directions. Painting could be neater. Craftsmanship required more effort.
Emerging (13-0 pts.)

Colors do not appear on the color wheel correctly. Craftsmanship needs much improvement. Project was painted carelessly.

Project was handed in on time. Student came to class on time, prepared, and put forth his best effort. Student followed directions and participated class. Student put in extra time to work on his project or added additional work beyond requirements.

Project was handed in on time. Student came to class on time, prepared, and put forth their best effort. Student followed directions and participated in class. .
Nearly Proficient (14-15pts.)

Student fulfilled requirements of the assignment. Student may have been off task and needed reminders to work. Student may not have always followed directions or put forth his best effort. Could do better.
Emerging (13-0 pts.)

Project was not handed in or did not fulfill the requirements of the lesson. Student did not put forth the effort needed to complete the work and/or did not follow directions.Student was off task in class.
