Note Accuracy	Exellent Notes and intonation are correct. Performs with a solid characteristic sound	Good The music performed is mostly correct with some errors. May have some intonation issues 1-3 errors	Average Student sounds somewhat familiar with the music but there are several wrong notes. Intonation may also be a problem. 4-6 errors	Fair There are several incorrect notes; the student sounds unfamiliar with the music performed.	Poor The music is not recognizable by the notes performed.
Rhythm & Tempo	Exellent Steady pulse with accurate rhythms at all times.	Good There is a steady pulse with few rhythmic errors.	Average The pulse is fairly steady but there are several small rhythmic errors.	Fair The pulse is unstable with major rhythmic errors.	Poor There is no evidence of a steady pulse. Rhythms are unrecognizable.
Articulations	Exellent Consistent use of articulations throughout performance.	Good Articulations are present with few inconsistencies in performance.	Average Articulations are present but not consistently performed correctly.	Fair Rarely uses correct articulations.	Poor No attention to articulations.
Tone Quality	Exellent Tone is full and well projected with a mature, characteristic sound for the instrument.	Good Considerable use of projection and fullness of tone but still somewhat short of a mature sound.	Average Fair use of projection and fullness of tone. There may be room for improvement in posture, embouchure & breath support.	Fair Limited projection - tone is poor or range is limited due to the need for a stronger embouchure and/or breath support/air.	Poor Sound is lacking in quality due to a poorly formed or weak embouchure and/or breath support/air.
