Rhtyhm Students will identify, classify, produce, and perform rhythms.

Identify a pattern Student notates pattern being vocalized, played or clapped	1 Student is unable to identify pattern being performed	2 Student is able to identify which pattern is being performed with prompting or with 2 or 3 errors	3 Student is able to identify pattern being performed without prompting and with only 1 or 2 errors	4 Student is able to identify pattern being performed independently with no errors
Notes/Rest Identification K = quarter note, rest 1st = add paired eighth 2nd = add half 3rd = add whole 4th & 5th = add eighth	1 Student is unable to identify any notes or rests.	2 Student is able to identify some notes or rests.	3 Student is able to identify all notes and rests with some prompting or with only 1 mistake.	4 Student is able to identify all notes and rests independently.
Performance Students perform a pattern with 4 beats while reading/speaking the rhythm and playing an instrument.	1 Student is unable to perform a basic 4 beat pattern while speaking or playing the pattern.	2 Student is able to perform a basic 4 beat pattern of notes and rests in only one of the following ways with prompting: 1-speaking the rhythm 2-Playing the rhythm	3 Student is able to perform a basic 4 beat pattern of notes and rests one of the following ways independently: 1- speaking the rhythm 2-Playing the rhythm	4 Student is able to perform a basic 4 beat pattern of notes and rests both of the following ways independently: 1-speaking the rhythm 2-Playing the rhythm
