Art Rubric Rubric is used to help students self-assess their art projects.
	Unacceptable I did not try. I gave up. 1 pts	Poor I tried a little but could have done much better. If I tried a little harder I'd be a good artist. 2 pts	Fair I tried a little harder but the work is just average. I'm a good artist. 3 pts	Good I tried very hard to meet the objectives. I'm a pretty good artist. 4 pts	Excellent I met all the objectives. I'm a super artist! 5 pts
Effort How hard did I work on the assignment?	Unacceptable I spent all of my time socializing. I did not care about completing the work.	Poor I spent most of my time socializing. I might have cared about the assignment but wanted to socialize instead.	Fair I spent some time socializing but focused mainly on completing my project.	Good I spent each class period doing my best to stay focused on the project.	Excellent I stayed focused and on task for this project.
Neatness How neatly did I complete the project?	Unacceptable The project looks like it's been slept on by my cat. It is torn or tattered. It is sloppy and messy. It looks like I just do not care.	Poor The project looks like I forgot about it most times. It's dirty or torn. It shows erase marks or the sloppy use of paint or other media.	Fair I tired to make it neat. I need to work harder on clearing erase marks, painting in the lines, or coloring my evenly.	Good I made it look neat and clean. I still need to work on erasing pencil marks or staying in the lines sometimes.	Excellent I made this project look fantastic!
Following Directions Do I follow directions?	Unacceptable I did not care about anything that was said to me. I did not follow directions.	Poor I might have listened to one or two things said by the teacher. I still did not follow directions as well as I should have.	Fair I followed most of the directions. I still left out a few things that should have been included.	Good I followed 90%of the directions.	Excellent I followed all of the directions and included all I was instructed to include.
Creativity Did I add my own touch to this assignment?	Unacceptable Creativity?! What's that?	Poor I thought about doing something different. I decided it was too much work and gave up.	Fair I added one or two things that make it mine.	Good I stepped out of my comfort zone and added several creative ideas to the work.	Excellent I went all out to make this work amazing!
Promptness Did I turn in the assignment on time?	Unacceptable I did not turn in the assignment.	Poor I turned in the assignment two days late.	Fair I turned in the assignment one day late.	Good I turned in the assignment the day it was due.	Excellent I turned it in ahead of time.
