Rubric: French 3 - Video Project 
This rubric is designed for a French video presentation performance assessment in which the students will be presenting vocabulary and grammar concepts from Chapter 6. Students are being graded both individually and as a group. The skit must be videotaped and either handed to the teacher in DVD format or in USB.

Students missing required segments in video. Not enough/no chapter 6 vocabulary and grammar elements. Not meeting required time or late.
Fair 11-14

Students missing required segments in video. Incorporated some of chapter 6 new vocabulary and grammar elements. Not meeting required time and handed on time.
Good 15-17

Students included all required segments in video. Mostly incorporated chapter 6 new vocabulary and grammar elements. Close to required time and handed on time.
Excellent 18-20

Students included all required segments in video. Incorporated chapter 6 new vocabulary and grammar elements. Required time and handed on time.
2. Creativity

Poor 0-10

Students' presented little creativity in their video. Students worked together poorly, preparation was unorganized, and/or took away from the overall quality of the work

Students' presentation was a little creative, room for improvement.
Students worked together, preparation was unorganized, and/or took away from the overall quality of the work
Good 15-17

Students' presentation was creative and unique, however had room for improvement.
Students worked together with little or no problems, and/or organization was lacking but acceptable.

Students' work was very creative and unique!
3. Grammar/Vocabulary

Poor 0-10

Student had 8 or more grammar points used incorrectly throughout the video, with little effort for correction. used 3 or fewer vocabulary words.
Fair 11-14

Student had 6-7 grammar points used incorrectly throughout the video, with little or some effort for correction. Used between 3-5 vocabulary words.
Good 15-17

Student had 4- 5 grammar points used incorrectly throughout the video, with some effort for correction. Used between 5-8 vocabulary words.
Excellent 18-20

Student had less than 3 grammar points used incorrectly throughout the video, with great effort for correction. Used at least 8 vocabulary words.
4. Fluency

Poor 0-10

Student presented a below average demonstration of French fluency. Student stumbled over words and missed or confused lines multiple times. It was obvious that student was reading from text. It appeared student did not understand what he/she was saying.
Fair 11-14

Student presented an average demonstration of French fluency. Student stumbled over words and missed or confused lines more than 3 times. It was obvious that student was reading from text. Student's intonation/expression was often inappropriate.
Good 15-17

Student presented an average demonstration of French fluency. Student stumbled over words at times and confused lines two or less times. It was obvious that student was reading from text. Student's intonation indicating an understanding of what he/she was saying.
Excellent 18-20

Student presented an average to above average performance. Student had few to no issues with fluency.
5. Use of class time

Poor 0-10

Student did not work well within his/her group, and was not on task during class time.
Fair 11-14

Student somewhat participated and was occasionally on task.
Good 15-17

Student participated, however, there's room for improvement at being on task.
Excellent 18-20

Student fully participated, and was on task the
entire class time.
