What are danger signs? What are things that you can eat?

Students create graphic organizers about danger signs or apply information by labeling foods to eat or to not eat. NYS Learning Standards for Health, Standard 2: A Safe and Healthy Environment; Grade 8 Science AGLI 12103 – reognize a safety hazard associated with a scientific investigation; Grade 8 Science AGLI 23107 - recognize one or more components for an organism to maintain health.

Behavior	Great Job! Student sat in chair, did not talk out of turn, completed work.	Good Work Student was able to sit in chair and complete work with very little redirection.	OK job Student needed some more redirection to sit in chair, talk in turn, and/or to complete work.	Keep Trying Student was not able to complete assignment because of poor behavior.
Disposition	Great Job! Student was excited to learn and complete their work. Student used prior knowledge to answer questions about poisonous signs and can apply information to real products.	Good Work Student maintained attention through the task for task completion. Student can generalize the skill to find signs about what can make you sick and/or label "eat" vs. "do not eat."	OK job Student attended to highly desired objects and topics, but needed redirection to attend to non-desired topics or items. Student is emerging generalizing the skill.	Keep Trying Student completed work but is sloppy due to noninterest in topic. Student cannot generalize skill in other areas.
Product	Great Job! Work is very easy to read and is 100% correct without assistance.	Good Work Product is completed, neat, and tidy. Pictures are clean, writing is legible, coloring does not cover the actual picture. The work is 85%-99% correct.	OK job Work is completed, but writing is somewhat illegible, coloring does cover pictures, but one can see what they are labeling. The work is 70%-84% correct.	Keep Trying Work is sloppy and/or incomplete. One cannot decipher what the purpose of the task is due to the product. The work is 0%-69% correct.
