Contour drawing	Attempts Grade Level The student was not successful in completing the drawing.	Progressing to Grade level The student drew out the still life but left out objects.	Grade level The student drew out all of the still life but objects were not drawn to the correct size.	Grade Level with Excellence The student successfully drew out the whole still life and drew all objects to life size or larger.
Use of watercolor media	Attempts Grade Level The student did not stay in lines in using water colors. Different values were not used.	Progressing to Grade level Student attemped to stay in lines while using watercolors and used some value changes.	Grade level The student stayed in the lines most of time and had good use of value changes as objects darker and background lighter.	Grade Level with Excellence The student stayed in all of the lines and had excellent use of value changes of darker in the foreground and lighter in the background. The student also showed hints of where light would hit the object.
Use of pointillism marker	Attempts Grade Level The student attempted to add color using pointillism only with one color.	Progressing to Grade level The student used pointillism building up with only two colors with no layering of colors. Points were just dotted everywhere.	Grade level The student showed understanding of using pointillism by layering of color in lighter and darker areas.	Grade Level with Excellence The student showed understanding and skill in using pointillism to show lights and darks by the layering of color from a light to a dark.
