Long Division These are steps for successfully completing the task of long division.
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
Determines # of digits in answer Student is able to determine how many digits will be in the answer.	Poor	Fair	Good
Uses guess and check Students uses multiplication to find how many times the divisor will go into the dividend.	Poor	Fair	Good
Subtracts to find remainder Student subtracts correctly to find the remainder for each section of the problem.	Poor	Fair	Good
Checks remainder Student makes sure remainder is less than the divisor.	Poor	Fair	Good
Brings down Student knows how to bring down after the subtracting step.	Poor	Fair	Good
