Catching	Poor Cannot track the ball.	Fair Eyes closed or turn head away from ball. Does not move to catch the ball. Catches ball with straight arms away form body or traps ball between body and arms.	Good Reaches to catch ball. Catches with hands only.	Excellent Eyes on ball. Moves to catch ball. Catches a self-tossed or well thrown large ball with both hands, not trapping or cradling against the ball. Catches a gently tossed hand-sized ball from a partner.
Underhand Throw	Poor No step. No backswing. Untimely object release.	Fair Steps forward with wrong foot. Backswing with no follow through Inconsistant object release.	Good Steps forward with correct foot. Full backswing and follow through. Coordinated arm motion with smooth release.	Excellent Throws using a mature pattern. Throws to a partner or target with reasonable accuracy.
Overhand Throw	Poor Faces target. No step. No trunk rotation. Lack of accuracy.	Fair Slight front to back stance. Steps with wrong foot. Minimal trunk rotation or bends forward. Inconsistant accuracy.	Good Stands with side to target. Steps with correct foot. Consistant trunk rotation.	Excellent Throws demonstrating elements of a mature pattern. Throws in non-dynamic environments for distance and/or force.
