This is an individual activity for finding specific examples of cause and effect in a piece of literature. Students must tell why their example demonstrates cause and effect.

Cause and Effect	Good The student determined the cause and effect in a given text.	Fair The student determined the cause and effect in a text, but required support and/or accommodations.	Poor The student did not determine the cause and effect in the text.
Participation	Good Student participated in group discussions, completed Cause and Effect foldable, participated in group work, and stayed engaged throughout the lesson.	Fair Student showed some participation in group discussions, completed some of the Cause and Effect foldable, participated somewhat in the group work, and stayed somewhat engaged throughout the lesson.	Poor Student did not participate at all.
Prepardness	Good The student was ready for class and had all materials.	Fair Student brought some materials to class, but asked to go back to their locker to retrieve something.	Poor Student did not bring any materials to class and was not prepared.
