Theme Project

Students will create their own short story, play, poem or song. Students will identify a theme they would like their project to demonstrate. Students will present their creations to the class.

Theme	Poor No theme was present in the story.	Fair There was some evidence of a theme in the project. There may be some errors or lack the explanation of the theme.	Good The theme is clearly demonstrated throughout the project. There are various examples of theme throughout the project. There is a clear explanation of the theme at the end of the project.
Plot	Poor There is little attempt/ no attempt to show the elements of a plot.	Fair There is evidence of various parts of the plot. Some elements of the plot maybe incomplete or missing. Some of the plot may not make sense.	Good The project clearly demonstrates all elements of a plot. The plot flows and makes sense.
Presentation	Poor There is minimal effort or no presentation at all.	Fair The presentation is complete however, it may not show creativity. Students completed the bare minimum.	Good The presentation is complete. The presentation shows full effort and creativity.
Grammar	Poor There are numerous errors in the project which results in the material being incoherent.	Fair There are a few minor errors but they do not change the meaning of the project. The project still makes sense.	Good There are no errors made.
