Also asked if they've had anything to eat, drink or smoke in the last 15 minutes. Temperature	Exemplary Used probe to cover thermometer. Put it in the correct position under the tongue. Left in place for 3 minutes.	Proficient Used probe to cover thermometer. Put in the correct position. Did not leave in place for 3 minutes.	Needs Practice Used probe. Fumbled with correct placement. Did not leave in place for 3 minutes.

Apply blood pressure cuff	Exemplary Correct size BP cuff selected. Palpate the pulse point. Apply BP cuff with arrow mark above artery, gauge visiable. Apply cuff evenly and snuggly around extremity.	Proficient Did some fumbling with the cuff, but got it on correct.	Needs Practice Needed several tries to do this and had to adjust the tightness.
Took blood pressure	Exemplary Handled the gauges corrected and inflated the cuff just above where it needed to be. Let the air out slowly but not painfully slow.	Proficient Did correct but took several attempts to get the inflation knob correct.	Needs Practice Needed several attempts to get the cuff inflated and left it up too long causing some pain.
Obtained reading	Exemplary Obtained the correct reading on the first try.	Proficient Obtained the correct reading on the second try.	Needs Practice Obtained the correct reading on the second try but demonstrated little confidence.
