Creative Dancercise Routine Rubric 
Students will be graded on the following criteria--creativity/music, rhythm/tempo, length/requirements, knowledge of routine, participation, written directions, cuing, enthusiasm, and preparedness/presentation (see a detailed explanation and how many points each criterion is worth). Students may get ideas from the various daily activities listed based on their answers on pages 200,203,&204. Exercises for the total body (legs, arms, core, etc.) must be included in workout.

Rhythm/Tempo

Unsatisfactory

There was no rhythm/tempo to follow.
Poor

The group gets offbeat and speeds up or falls behind. Doesn't follow the rhythm or tempo.
Fair

The group sometimes falls off beat and tempo or makes errors in rhythm. Tries to get back on.
Good

The group shows a good understanding of tempo and beat, but rarely gets off beat or makes an error in rhythm.
Outstanding

The group is accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms and dance sequences.
Length/3 requirements

Unsatisfactory

None of the segments were present in the routine.
Poor

Less Than 5 minutes. Is missing one of the segments of requirements (warmup, aerobic workout, cool down)
Fair

6-7 minutes long and incorporates most of the requirements.
Good

8-9 minutes long. Has all the requirements developed.
Outstanding

10 -12 minutes has all 3 requirements develop.
Knowledge of the steps

Unsatisfactory

There was no knowledge of the routine. Making up steps as you go.
Poor

Remembers a few of the steps/movements and tries, but looks lost and out of sync with the others
Fair

Demonstrates some knowledge of choreography, but unsure of some movements. Sometimes hesitates/watches others and makes some errors.
Good

Demonstrates good knowledge of choreography. Keeps up with the group. Few errors
Outstanding

Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the choreography and does it well.
Participation

Unsatisfactory

Did not participate at all.
Poor

Did not participate much in rehearsal or final performance. Absent alot or not contributing. No cooperation. Did not use classtime
Fair

Sometimes participated in rehearsal and final performance. Cooperation lacking at times. Sometimes goofed off and did not use time wisely
Good

Often participated in rehearsal and final performance. Use time efficiently.
Outstanding

Always participated in rehearsal and final performance. Always used time well.
Written Directions

There were no written instructions provided.
Poor

Group did not have written directions. The draft was hand written or nonexistent.
Fair

Some Written Directions were followed. Directions were typed.
Good

Written format followed in most cases. Missing one component. Directions typed and neat.
Outstanding

Written Directions were TYPED and included Group Member Names, The Song Title, Workout type, Number and Names of Moves included in the routine, Music counts if necessary (dance).
Cuing

Unsatisfactory

There was no cues to new moves.
Poor

Group did not cue the new moves in advance or the direction of the move. Could not hear.
Fair

Cuing was done sometimes and directional changes cued some of the time. Audience had a hard time hearing at times.
Good

Cuing was done most of the time with directional changes.
Outstanding

All cuing was done and shared amoung the group members. Voice was loud and could be heard.
Enthusiasm

Unsatisfactory

Enthusiasm is non-existent.
Poor

No use of facial, or lacked enthusiasm.
Fair

Very little facial expressions and has a little entusiasum
Good

Average expressions, and had enthusiams for most of the routine
Outstanding

Great expressions and use of enthusiasum.
Preparedness/Presentation

Unsatisfactory

Not prepared at all.
Poor

Group was unprepared and did not know the routine. Clear rehearsal was lacking
Fair

Group was mostly prepared and mostly knew the routines, but could have used more rehearsals
Good

Group was prepared and knew the routine <BR>
and obviously rehearsed.
Outstanding

Group handed in everything and ready to perform. Knew the routine well and directions were clear.
Attire/Uniform

All of the members are not P.E uniform
Poor

Most of the members did not wear a uniform.
Fair

Half of the group only wears a P.E uniform
