RHYTHM PYRAMID

Students knowledge of rhythm reading, note identification, and clapping performance. Students will clap and count the Rhythm Pyramid to the best of their ability using a steady beat throughout.

	Developing 5 pts	Meeting 10 pts	Exceeding 20 pts
Identifying Notes	Developing Student cannot identify any notes.	Meeting Student is able to identify some notes.	Exceeding Student is able to identify all notes given.
Identifying Note/Beat Patterns Students should be able to identify the note and beats in a given pattern.	Developing Student is unable to say how many counts/beats are in the pattern.	Meeting Student is able to identify some patterns and identify some of the counts/beats in the pattern.	Exceeding Student is able to identify all the patterns and counts independently.
Clapping/ Counting Performance	Developing Student is unable to clap and count out any beats.	Meeting Student is able to clap and count some of the beats.	Exceeding Student is able to clap and count out the beats without the teacher's help.
Steady Beat	Developing Student is unable to keep a steady beat.	Meeting Student is able to keep a steady beat some of the time.	Exceeding Student is able to keep a steady beat through the whole pyramid.
