Explanation	Great-Mastery! :) Students understanding of the concept is evident. Student uses appropriate strategies to arrive at a result. Student shows thinking skills to arrive at the conclusion.	Fair-Almost There! Student has limited understanding of the concept. Student uses strategies that are ineffective. Student attempts to show thinking skills.	Poor-Little Effort Student has a complete lack of understanding of the concept. Student makes no attempt to use a strategy. Student shows no understanding.
Student Effort	Great-Mastery! :) Student put in great effort and made sure to take their time and answer questions thoroughly, excellent answers.	Fair-Almost There! Student put in some effort and several questions were great, while several others were sloppy and not correct.	Poor-Little Effort Student put in little effort; answers were very sloppy and incomplete.
Comprehension of Physical Properties & Matter	Great-Mastery! :) The matters were all correctly guessed and writing portion demonstrates a clear understanding of what takes place.	Fair-Almost There! Some matters are correctly identified. Still needs some more review. The writing shows there is comprehension but should be reviewed.	Poor-Little Effort Matters were not right. Guesses were completely off. the writing portion demonstrates little or no comprehension of what takes place.
Comprehension of Length	Great-Mastery! :) All lengths were correctly guessed and shows comprehension of the topic and idea. The writing portion demonstrates a clear understanding of what takes place.	Fair-Almost There! Some length answers were correct or close. And the writing shows there is comprehension but should be reviewed.	Poor-Little Effort Length answers were not even close. The the writing portion demonstrates little or no comprehension of what takes place.
Comprehension of Temperature	Great-Mastery! :) Idea and testing of temperature is correct and accurate. The answer shows comprehension of the topic. Writing portion also demonstrates a clear understanding of what takes place.	Fair-Almost There! Part of the temperature idea is correct, but there needs to be some review. The writing shows there is comprehension, but should be reviewed as well.	Poor-Little Effort Temperature idea was not correct and showed lack of comprehension. The writing portion demonstrates little or no comprehension of what takes place.
