Speaking is almost unintelligible and student must read directly from notes.

Is able to speak with little to no use of notes. Can be understood by any listener.

Topic not well organized and has no detail. Student speaks for less than a minute.

Missing most transition words; student minimally speaks about topic, but with no detail and only for less than 2 minutes.

Missing some transition words; student speaks about topic in a simple manner and speaks for 2 minutes.

Well organized; student stays completely on topic and speaks for more than 3 minutes.
