Not demonstrated Students did not address the prompt directly.
Writing conventions	Mastery Students included 4 complete sentences and correct spelling when answering the prompt.	Proficient Students included all 4 sentences with mostly complete sentences and correct spelling when answering the prompt.	Adequate Students included at least 3 sentences all of which are complete sentences with minor errors in spelling.	Developing Students included at least 3 sentences but not all where complete sentences or there were grievous spelling or grammar issues.	Not demonstrated Students had less than 3 sentences and/or the paper is illegible or incomprehensible.
