This rubric will assess a student's ability to write an original integer word problem. They will use key terms that show their understanding of positive and negative integers in the real world context.

Problem Creation	Expert Student can write a integer word problem with using real world words related to "positive" and "negative" numbers that another student can solve alone.	Practitioner Student did not include real world words related to "positive" and "negative" numbers but another student can solve the problem alone.	Apprentice Student did not include "positive" and "negative" real world context words related and another student is not able to solve it.
Solving the Problem	Expert Student provided a correct answer on the back of their poster.	Practitioner Student provided an answer on the back of the poster but it was incorrect.	Apprentice Student did not provide an answer.
Poster	Expert Student's poster includes the word problem, along with a visual representation of the problem and a number line.	Practitioner Student's poster includes the word problem along with a visual representation of the problem.	Apprentice Student's poster includes the word problem.
Clarity and Creativity	Expert Student's work is neat, organized and well thought out with color and design.	Practitioner Student's work is neat with minor smudges and marks, organized, and has included some color and design.	Apprentice Student's work is unorganized, and no color was included.
