	Outstanding 4 pts	Excellent 3 pts	Good 2 pts	Average 1 pts
Tone Quality	Outstanding Rich, warm, full, focused tone with excellent bowing technique	Excellent Warm, full, focused tone with developing bowing technique	Good Decent tone with developing bowing technique	Average Timid, scratchy, and weak tone with abundant bow shake.
Intonation	Outstanding Accurate intonation with accurately placed intervals. No glissando evident.	Excellent One pitch missed or glissando is evident.	Good Two pitches missed or multiple glissando is evident.	Average Three or more pitches missed with constant incorrect intonation.
Technique	Outstanding Bowing technique is characteristic of high quality playing. Tempo is characteristic of a high playing level	Excellent Bowing technique is good Tempo is characteristic of a good playing level	Good Bowing technique is adequate but flawed. Tempo is characteristic of a developing playing level	Average Bowing techniques are poor. Tempo is characteristic of a novice playing level
Pulse and Rhythm	Outstanding Steady pulse is maintained at a tempo characteristic of high quality playing level.	Excellent Steady pulse is somewhat maintained at a tempo characteristic of good playing level.	Good Steady pulse is not consistent at a tempo which is characteristic of adequate playing level.	Average Steady pulse is absent at a tempo characteristic of poor playing level.
