Steady Beat	Best -The student plays with a steady beat consistently for the whole time.	Good -The student plays with a steady beat consistently for most of the time.	Fair -The student plays with a steady beat consistently for some of the time.	Poor The student does not play with a steady beat.
Rhythmic Accuracy	Best -The student plays the rhythm with no mistakes.	Good -The student plays the rhythm with 1-2 mistakes.	Fair -The student plays the rhythm with 3-4 mistakes.	Poor -The student plays the rhythm with 5 or more mistakes.
Pitch Accuracy	Best -The student plays all the pitches correctly. He/she makes no mistakes.	Good The student plays most of the pitches correctly. He/she makes 1-2 mistakes.	Fair The student plays some of the pitches correctly. He/she makes 3-4 mistakes.	Poor The student plays few or none of the pitches correctly. He/she makes 5 or more mistakes.
Mallet Technique	Best -The student demonstrates Rest and Ready positions based on the teacher's example with no mistakes. -The student always plays in the middle of the tone bar with no mistakes.	Good -The student demonstrates Rest and Ready positions based on the teacher's example with 1-2 mistakes. -The student mostly plays in the middle of the tone bar with 1-2 mistakes.	Fair -The student demonstrates Rest and Ready positions based on the teacher's example with 3-4 mistakes. -The sometimes plays in the middle of the tone bar with 3-4 mistakes.	Poor -The student demonstrates Rest and Ready positions based on the teacher's example with 5 or more mistakes. -The almost never or never plays in the middle of the tone bar with no mistakes.
