Postings offer little by way of extending or elaborating on the in-class discussions.

Postings may extend class discussions or clearly apply course material, but do not demonstrate engagement with the material outside of class or that moment.

Postings demonstrate engagement with the material outside of class (e.g., sharing news stories or personal reflections), but with little elaboration (e.g., "I saw this in the news, what do you all think?") Inconsistent depth of responding.

Both original and reply postings offer thought-provoking questions and insights that engage other students, extend in-class discussions, and/or demonstrate ongoing personal reflection,

Postings very concentrated during the semester (i.e., all posted within a very brief period of time)

Postings somewhat concentrated during the semester (i.e., all posted within a somewhat brief period of time)

Postings neither distributed nor concentrated throughout the semester

Postings well distributed throughout the semester
