Parts of Speech Teaching Presentation

Students will teach the class about the following parts of speech: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions/prepositional phrases (Periods 3 and 5: add appositive phrases and participial phrases)

Content	Exemplary Students demonstrated mastery of parts of speech: defining each part of speech, explaining uses, subcategories when appropriate, examples, and comparisons to other parts of speech.	Proficient Students demonstrated proficient knowledge of the parts of speech, providing examples and explaining uses.	Developing Students demonstrated an incomplete knowledge of the parts of speech, which lacked examples and/or uses, or gave erroneous information.
Presentation Skills	Exemplary Students were well-rehearsed, used clear speaking voices, engaged the audience, and presented the materials with confidence in their knowledge.	Proficient Students displayed some signs of rehearsal, spoke clearly most of the time, and presented the material with some signs of confidence in their knowledge.	Developing Students demonstrated little rehearsal or confidence in their knowledge, giving a perfunctory presentation.
Creativity	Exemplary Students presented the material in a creative way, teaching an engaging and effective lesson.	Proficient Students demonstrated some creativity in their lesson.
