Student will orally present to the class information gathered on the person they chose for biographical research. Included should be a visual aid they created about their character.

Spoke most of the time about topic and did create and use a visual aid. Gave adequate information on topic.
Good

Spoke on the topic the entire presentation, and created a visual aid. Gave expanded and entertaining information on topic.
Volume/Fluency

Poor

Speaker was difficult to hear, and spoke either too quickly or stumbled often on presentation of information
Fair

Speaker was able to be heard; however, pacing was uneven with some stumbling during presentation.

Speaker spoke very clearly and fluently during presentation. Speaker paced him/herself well to fulfill timing requirements.

Poor

The evidence does not clearly support the interpretation. Citations are random or not included to support the interpretation.

The evidence accurately supports the interpretation. Citations are included, but not always clearly connected to the interpretation.
Good

The evidence strongly and insightfully supports the interpretation. Evidence is clearly stated and citations to the text is included.
Application of Character

Poor

Interpretation is not extended beyond explanation and support. No connection is made to plot or connection does not follow logically from character interpretation.
Fair

Interpretation is extended through brief elaboration and connected to plot, but the explanation is unclear and difficult to understand.
Good

Character interpretation is extended beyond explanation through detailed elaboration. A conclusion is made and explained sufficiently to connect character to plot.
