Book Content Brief plot summary included, and main problem identified	Developing Plot summary is not included OR student does not fully understand the topic of the book. Student can not answer audience questions	Proficient Plot summary is included but some key points/topics are missing OR summary is too lengthy (giving away the story line.) Student may falter when answering audience questions	Mastered Accurate plot summary is included and student fully understands the topic of the book. Student can answer audience questions confidently.
Opinion of Book and Passage An opinion of the book is clearly stated with support details & rate.	Developing No opinion or rating of the book is given OR no supporting details are given as evidence. No passage is read.	Proficient Either an opinion is clearly stated or a rating is clearly given, but there is little supporting details as evidence. Passage is read but explanation is inadequate	Mastered An opinion of the book is clearly stated AND the book is clearly rated (1-5) with at least 3 solid reasons why Passage is read and explained adequately
