Rhythm - Playing	Beginning Majority of the rhythms are not known.	Developing Rhythms are sometimes correct, but there is hesitation.	Accomplished Rhythms are generally correct with some discrepancy in releases and/or rest length and or/ with few variations.	Exemplary All rhythms are performed correctly without wavering pulse, with proper counting and attention to right hand/left hand sticking.
Rhythm - Counting	Beginning Student doesn't show proper order in counting rhythm. No parenthesis for rests or dashes connecting longer notes.	Developing Student counts correctly for the given time signatures but doesn't show parenthesis or dashes.	Accomplished Student counts correctly for the given time signatures and correctly shows rests and long notes with parenthesis and dashes most of the time.	Exemplary Student counts correctly for all rhythms, correctly shows all rests and long notes, and adds in bar lines where necessary.
