Preparation	Excellent Student is well prepared and it is obvious that he/she rehearsed the poem thoroughly.	Very Good Student is well prepared. Student does not include the title of poem at beginning.	Poor Student is prepared but fails to give the title of the poem at beginning.
Memorization	Excellent The student has memorized the entire poem and is able to present it without error.	Very Good The student has memorized the entire poem and is able to present with just one-3 error from which he/she recovers.	Poor The student has memorized the entire poem and is able to present; however, he/she makes 4+ errors and doesn't recover/does recover
Pausing and Pacing	Excellent The student uses pauses and pace effectively to communicate meaning and/or enhance dramatic impact of the poem.	Very Good The students uses pauses and pacing to communicate meaning and/or enhance dramatic impact of the poem.	Poor Pauses and pacing were not effective in improving meaning and/or dramatic effect. Pauses at ends of lines rather than at punctuation marks. Delivery is in bursts.
