Morning Routine

Poor

The student is escorted into the classroom and waits for staff to physically prompt him/her through the morning routine. S/He does not respond to verbal or gesture cues. The student is escorted to his/her seat.
Fair

The student enters the classroom and walks to his/her cubby. S/he does not know the steps to follow but responds to gesture cues on where to place items (i.e. coat and backpack in cubby, sort books and lunchbox into bins)then walks to seat.
Good

The student enters the room, independently puts coat and backpack into the cubby then sorts books and lunch into bins. S/he goes to his/her chair.
Independent Task Completion

Poor

The student needs hand over hand assistance to walk to the activity shelf, get a target activity, complete the activity and return it to the self.
Fair

In response to, "get a toy", the student will walk to the activity shelf with a gesture cue, pick an activity, go to his/her seat, complete the activity given gesture cues and return the toy to the self in response to gesture cues.
Good

In response to, "get a toy", the student will independently walk to the shelf to get a toy, walk back to his/her seat, complete the activity and return it to the shelf. The student will pick another activity.
Group Participation

Poor

The student is escorted to transition to a group activity. The student is unable to sit without a tangible reinforcement to stay in his/her chair. Hand over hand assistance is needed to follow directives.
Fair

The student transitions independently to the group. The student is able to sit and attend in his/her chair. Following directives requires verbal and gesture cues.
Good

The student transitions independently to the group, sits and attends to the activity, follows directions and is an active participant.
