Resisting Hitler (differentiated instruction) 
After reading "Resisting Hitler" by Susan Campbell Bartoletti, students will complete a character study activity. Putting themselves in the shoes of the characters Karl and Rudi, they will complete the assignment of their choice to explain the following: how the characters are feeling, what they are fearing, and what they think Helmuth will do. The choices are: write a paragraph (individually), write a diary entry (individually), or write and perform a conversation between the two characters (in pairs). Target: making text-to-self connections. CR7, CC7
